About Us:
At the Allendale Barnwell Disabilities and Special Needs Board (ABDSNB), our mission is simple yet powerful: enhancing lives through choice. We are a dedicated team of professionals committed to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and related conditions across Allendale and Barnwell counties.
We believe in the dignity, potential, and individuality of every person we serve. Our services are designed to empower individuals and their families through personalized support, meaningful opportunities, and compassionate care.
What We Do:
ABDSNB provides a wide range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual:
- Early Intervention Services – Supporting children from birth to age five with developmental delays or disabilities, helping them reach key milestones and prepare for school.
- Day Services – Offering structured programs that focus on life skills, job readiness, community engagement, and social development in a safe, supportive environment.
- Residential Services – We offer a variety of residential options to ensure individuals have safe, supportive homes that promote independence and personal growth. These include:
- ICFs (Intermediate Care Facilities) – Eight-bed homes providing 24-hour care and support in a structured setting.
- CTH-II (Community Training Homes, Level II) – Smaller residential settings that encourage independence while still offering necessary supervision and support.
- SLP I (Supervised Living Program, Level I) – For individuals capable of greater independence, with intermittent staff support and oversight to help them manage daily living tasks successfully.
- In addition, we offer lawn care and janitorial services through our vocational programs, helping individuals develop real-world skills while contributing to their communities.
Our Vision:
We envision a community where individuals with disabilities are fully included, valued, and given every opportunity to live fulfilling lives. Our team works daily to make this vision a reality by fostering independence, promoting inclusion, and building strong connections across the region.
Whether you’re a family looking for support, a professional interested in partnering, or someone wanting to learn more, welcome to ABDSNB, we’re proud to be part of your journey.
